Room for the city to move.
At Zara, 500 Fifth Avenue in New York, the space beneath the sidewalk shed is central to the project story.
The brief: consider the public passage.
A Fifth Avenue storefront is part of a busy streetscape. The installation needs to be considered from the perspective of the people walking beneath it, as well as the building and the work above.
The result in view.
The project photographs show a broad pedestrian passage alongside the storefront and a spacious corner condition. They illustrate the amount of room available to the public beneath this installation.
Room belongs in the conversation.
For owners, property managers, and contractors, pedestrian space is worth discussing early. The site, the project scope, and its engineering requirements determine what can be achieved.
A DIFFERENT BUILDING. YOUR NEXT PROJECT.
